Owner Review:

Hi, nice to meet ya'll!  We are known as Blue Lacys or the Texas Blue Lacy. That's were we originated from back in the 1800's when the Lacy family settled in the Marble Falls area of Texas. They bred us to be an all-around stock, hunting and family dog for the pioneers in the area. We are very intelligent and easily trained. We also love being outdoors working or just playing with our families, but we do like to be indoors at times too!;) We generally have a blue/gray color, but also come in red, cream and sometimes tri. - by: Albert Pina

Our website recently discovered this breed by accident when one of our visitors, Albert Pina, sent us a picture.  Although not a recognized AKC breed, it is a breed that owes its origins to the Lacy family who migrated to Texas back in the 1800's.  This breed is well known in Texas hill country for its excellent herding abilities as well as hunting.   The Blue Lacy is said to be descended from the Greyhound and Scent Hounds.  This combination of breeding obviously works creating an all-around good breed with excellent temperament combined with intelligence and beautiful coat/coloring.
