Ragdoll cats are one of the largest breeds of cats.  They can easily reach 15 to 20 lbs. with males weighing more than females.  They are well known for their great temperament and get along well with kids.  They seek out and love company.  If you are looking for a lap-sitter, this is your cat!  They come in four colors called color points; seal, chocolate, blue, and lilac.  They also have three patterns; color point, mitted and bi-color.  They have medium to long hair with large bushy tails.  They do require frequent grooming to prevent hairballs.  These cats are less likely to develop matting.  Much like a siamese, when these cats are born they are white and develop their color after about a week.  Their most endearing qualities are their beautiful blue eyes and their good nature.
